Shan Lin Xi is a beautiful pine-forested peak in central Taiwan that is renowned for its excellent oolongs. Narrow roads wind six thousand feet up the mountain, revealing magnificent views of lush tea fields hugging the steep slopes. The mountain's cool weather and frequent fog lead to slow leaf growth, yielding an intensely aromatic tea with subtle suggestions of hyacinth, and an aftertaste of green olives.
