Light almond color. Roasted nuts and warm buttered toast, round mouthfeel with edges of lingering mellow astringency. Middle flavor burst with hints of cocoa, coffee.
Crafted for Teforia by generations of Japanese tea master. Hojicha (“roasted tea”) was first developed in Kyoto in the 1920s. Beginning as bancha tea (a later harvest and larger leaf pluck), it then receives additional roasting, which reduces the already-low caffeine content and tempers the flavor to create a light, sweet, earthy cup, reminiscent of coffee, cocoa, and roasted nuts. A great choice for bedtime, or those wishing a transition away from coffee.
